FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet.

Built six "EarthTainers" using the directions available here. - http://earthtainer.tomatofest.com. Also we had some random experiments going on in pots and one official EarthBox full of derby beans. Amazing results so far. Planted everything on May 12, 2009. 3 boxes of tomatoes, 2 to a box (all heirlooms). 1 box of sweet peppers (6 peppers to a box), 1 box with 6 brussel sprouts, 1 box (the EarthBox) with derby bush beans and a final box with 2 varieties of eggplant.

What is your favorite part about gardening?:
The eating part is the best, but I also love the idea of producing something beneficial for the environment and nutritional for humans on a rooftop that has been sitting unused for 104 of the 105 years since it was built in Denver. 2009 feeling fine.

What is your favorite part about gardening?:
At the end of the day, when I'm tired and weary from working on the computer all day, seeing the daily progress and growth of my seedlings has been an instant stress reliever. I am excited to nurture something that will nurture others. Can't wait for garden parties, pot-lucks, canning parties and community to fruit from my garden!!!
