How do cities affect our soil? Our climate? Our psyches? What answers can permaculture provide to the pressing issues facing our urban areas? Join us for this interactive workshop as we discuss strategies large and small for transforming the urban landscape using the ethics, principles and design process of permaculture as a guide. Topics covered will include:
- The city as organism - Contemporary cities in a historical context - Pattens of soil, wind, climate, air and water in the urban landscape - Growing techniques for small spaces - Understanding networks and hierarchies in social systems - Permaculture strategies for community-building
