We have 8 raised beds here at the Queen Anne, and we try to grow as much produce as possible for giving to our guests. We are growing everything from wariho & golden giant amaranth to all of our kitchen herbs, tomatoes, zucchini, squashes, peppers, peaches, strawberries and more. Our concept is to generate a living example of urban organic gardening to our guests so they can implement some of the ideas in their own homes. ...
The Grow Local Colorado Campaign is supported by community leaders, gardeners, locavores, farmers and businesses to help promote local food, local community and local economy. This website is a resource hub for information, expertise and partnership in establishing your own food garden in your home, business, or public space.
Founded in early 2009, The Grow Local Colorado Campaign is a project of representatives from the Living Earth Center, Transition Denver, The Mile High Business Alliance and Denver Botanic Gardens.
The goals of the Campaign include:
- Identify the individuals, organizations and other resources who are participating in growing local food (take the pledge and register your own garden now!)
- Establish new gardens in our communities. A new garden is defined as any space (in a yard, on a patio or windowsill) where food is growing that wasn't growing before.
- Expand the Grow Local campaign to raise awareness of local food and to build more community
We are grateful to the following organizations and businesses for their partnership and sponsorship of Grow Local:
